This occurred the day after Christmas, in one day. All while visiting family on the other coast. The forecaster on the radio, form previous evening said very plainly "...expect 16 inches." I never found out the exact amount. The snow drifts were up to my knees today when I was out there. I heard trains were stopped and airports at a stand still. Its the one thing I always hope to see each year I visit.
